Our farm covers an area of 136 hectares, 86 of which are with grain among vineyards, olive groves and orchards. We chose to use native grapes typical of Tuscany as Sangiovese, the main grape of this region, and Ansonica. The Olive Grove is instead made up of different varieties of olives: Leccina, Canina and Moraiola from which we produce our oil Silvestre, an extra virgin olive oil of superior quality.
Wild Marremma horses, Amiantini donkeys, Maremmane and Chianine cows are considered part of all the company assist as they are fully involved in the farm’s natural and organic productive cycle. Capalbio Farm is handled with the absolute respect of biodiversity, whereas many boars, hedgehogs, roe deers, as well as foxes and several stationary and migratory birds inhabit the 136 hectares.
Of the 136 hectares of land as many as 50 are made of the forest where inhabits many animals that we welcome to CapalBIOfattoria. For the collecting rainwater we choose to set up a large reservoir with which we irrigate our fields. Often, the small reservoir, hosts herons and other migratory birds as well as locals.
